In her new series “Relax, We’re Doing Great” Victorian artist Michelle Hamer explores the grittiness and confusion of the global pandemic. In hand-stitched mini billboard panels with changing skyscapes, she captures the clichés and contradictions of the ubiquitous messages that have joined and divided us globally. Her work brings an intimate tactile quality to phrases gathered from signage, media, and the language of national and international leaders.
