Veterans Health Week: Community Picnic

The local contemporary veteran community invites you to join us at a free community picnic to participate in Veterans Health Week. This is a family friendly event, bring the rug, rugrats and sunscreen, for free kids activities - faceprinting, jumping castle, games and entertainers - for a great day out at the park. The Military Brotherhood Military Motorcycle Club are going to be cooking up on the BBQ for a gold coin donation. BYO Picnic and set up for some local musicians live on stage, giveaways, community health displays. Local veterans, Ambulance Victoria, Victorian Fire Services, SES, Victorian Police, Warrnambool HEMS Rescue Helicopter will be there. The average age of our contemporary veterans in Warrnambool is 35-45, the range 25 to 75 years old. Our young families would love to meet your young families! Park Run kicks off at 8am. Yoga in the Park 9am. Picnic from 10am.

Warrnambool has a strong tradition of supporting the veteran community on important events such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day, and 2nd November is a day to connect veterans and their families with our local families. Contemporary veterans are highly trained professionals. They have chosen to serve our country and it’s now an opportunity for the Warrnambool community to extend a hand and have a positive impact on aiding their reintegration into our community by being involved during Veterans Health Week.
