Twilight Movie - Aladdin - Red Cross Disaster Relief & Recovery

Dates:
Fri, 17/01/2020 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Come along and watch the latest blockbuster hit, Disney's Aladdin, on the Big Screen in Lake Pertobe. This additional summer movie screening is to raise funds for Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery. Bring along a blanket, camp chair or magic carpet, and a gold coin donation for this important cause.

What does your donation to Disaster Relief and Recovery go towards? Your donation to Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery helps emergency teams to do their work – including the bush-fires we’re currently seeing and disasters yet to come. It enables them to give people the support they need in disasters: whether that’s help to prepare, a safe place to take shelter, psychological first aid, information, and practical support through the months and even years it can take to recover, and currently includes emergency grants in communities affected by the bush-fires. The vast majority of the team are volunteers.  The Disaster Relief and Recovery fund covers their costs, including training, equipment and transport as well as the coordination effort to ensure the teams are where the community needs them to be.

What is Red Cross’ role in emergencies? While other agencies fight the fires and clean up the streets, Red Cross looks after the people. Red Cross help people cope with stressful and traumatic events by offering psychological first aid, linking them to information and services they need, helping them locate their loved ones, or just offering one-to-one support as people work out what to do next.
