Become a Treasue Detective these Spring School Holidays in an enchanted Maritime Village. There's farm animals, tearooms, lolly shop, kids craft, cooking, time travel tours, old fashioned games, wood workings and the popular Meet the Maremmas!

Activity Description:

Cooking up a Storm* - Using tradional recipe, measure & mix to create yourself a take home bag of yummy treats. Be careful as you might find it so yummy it won't even get home!! (Limit 30. Book at reception or call us over the phone! Sessions suitable for primary age - 15y/o children. All children wanting to participate must have a booked spot)

Reading, 'Riting & 'Rithmatic' - Be on your best behaviour as the School Ma'am shows you how to behave in the 1870's Common School. Dress in period costume, role play & use slate boards. Don't misbehave or he School Ma'am might have to get her cane out & you don't want that! (Age: Primary School. Limit: 30 Book at Reception.

Artistic Carpentry - How good are you with a hammer and nails? Well time to practice driving the nails in straight. Trace a picture of your choice onto a block of wood, maybe a Maremma dog or a penguin, hammer nails in at regular intervals around the outline and then loop coloured wool around the nails to make an awesome picture!

Beautiful Beanies - Make your own distinct and colourful beanie. All you need is some colourful material, scissors and sewing skills to create a beanie you'll be proud to wear!

Jewellery Making - Come and make something that's gorgeous and unique that will make you stand out from the crowd when you combine it with your latest outfit or fashion ensemble! Great for presents and gifts too!

Finger Knitting - In this session learn a new skill that could start you on a creative path. Even the little ones can learn how to knitwith their fingers with some adults help! All it takes is a little dexterity and concentration and in no time the children will be knitting away and creating beautiful colourful creations!

Pen and Ink* - Come along and learn how to use an old-fashioned nib pen and ink to do your best best writing. Think you can make some curls and florishes without making a blot? Be sure to wear old clothes, as ink can stain! (Age: Primary School. Limit: 30. Book at Reception or over the phone!)

Triton Woodworkers - Fun and easy woodwork activities for the kids. Choose from a wide selection of pre-made kits to build. With a friendly team of helpers on hand. D.I.Y has never been this much fun. From Monday 23 September to Friday 4 October

Meet the Maremmas - Is a fun educational and interactive experience running Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays at 10am during the Spring School Holidays. Learn about the Little Penguins living on Middle Island in Warrnambool and how the dogs protect them for predators

Time Travel with the Jolly Lighthouse keeper* - Have you ever wanted to time travel? Well here is your opportunity! On Wednesday 25 September and Wednesday 2 October, children will join their time travelling Lighthouse Keeper on a magical journey back to the early 1900s. Follow the guide who will take you down into Flagstaff Hill where you can explore the village, meeting shopkeepers, garrison soldiers, a blacksmith and more! Each child will need to solve a mystery which they will do with the help of those that they meet on their adventure! BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL!

Roaming Musicians on Grand Final Weekend - Musicians will be performing through out the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village in busking mode. On Friday 27 September from 11am - 2pm bring your dancing shoes and enjoy the big voice of Jason Bull playing all of our favourite pub covers. On saturday 28 September from 11am - 2pm come and see German export Flo Lindemann for a dose of 80s pop-rock.

Enjoy a Guided Tour - Did you know every day at 11:30am you can join a guided heritage tour of the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum and heritage Precinct? Hear from one of our knowledgeable volunteer guides about how Flagstaff Hill and its impressive artefact collection came to be, and the hidden stories behind treasure like the $4 million doller Minton Peacock Statue. Tours suitable for all ages. 

Stella Maris Tearooms - During the 'Hidden Treasures' School Holiday Program, our Tearooms are open daily from 11am - 2pm. be sure to sample our new spring menu full of gourmet toasties, pastries, pies and great coffee!

Mrs Kuck's Confectionary Shop - During the 'Hidden Treasures' School Holiday Program, our Lolly Shop is open daily from 11am - 2pm. Taste a variety of sweet treats and yummy chocolates that will want you begging for more!

Tales of the Shipwreck Coast - Nightly on dusk, Tales of the Shipwreck Coast takes you on a journey through the ages. Experience three epic true stories through light projections onto a nine-metre water wall! From local creation stories of the Gunditjmara people, to our colourful whaling past, then to the most notorious shipwreck on the Great Ocean Road! The wreck of the Loch Ard. Don't just learn about the history, experience it!
