Author Talk: Mark Smith

Wed, 26/06/2019 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm

Collins Booksellers Warrnambool, in partnership with Brauer College, invite you to celebrate the launch of the final book in the 'Road to Winter' trilogy by award-winning Victorian author, Mark Smith.

Join us at the Brauer College PAC at 5pm on Wednesday, 26th June 2019 for an author talk, followed by book sales and signings.

Set in a rural, coastal community of Victoria, this dystopian YA trilogy will have you hooked. An enthralling, action-packed story of survival that has been likened to John Marsden's 'Tomorrow' series, these books will have both teen and adult readers on the edge of their seats, and keep them thinking long after they've finished reading.

About book one:

Since a deadly virus and the violence that followed wiped out his parents and most of his community, Finn has lived alone on the rugged coast with only his loyal dog Rowdy for company.

He has stayed alive for two winters—hunting and fishing and trading food, and keeping out of sight of the Wilders, an armed and dangerous gang that controls the north, led by a ruthless man named Ramage.

But Finn’s isolation is shattered when a girl runs onto the beach. Rose is a Siley—an asylum seeker—and she has escaped from Ramage, who had enslaved her and her younger sister, Kas. Rose is desperate, sick, and needs Finn’s help. Kas is still missing somewhere out in the bush.

And Ramage wants the girls back—at any cost.
